Rein legal

Privacy Policy

Effective June 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how TrueGuardian, LLC, doing business as Rein ("Rein," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our website at tryrein.com and the services we provide through it (together, the "Services"). Rein is an online marketplace and business-management platform for the equestrian industry that connects horse owners and riders with trainers and other equestrian professionals.

If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Services. Questions can be sent to privacy@tryrein.com.

Summary of key points

  • What we collect. Information you give us (such as your name, email, phone number, location, horse details, and payment information) and information collected automatically (such as device and usage data).
  • How we use it. To run the marketplace, generate AI-powered trainer recommendations, process bookings and payments, send messages, provide support, keep the Services secure, and comply with law.
  • When we share it. With service providers that operate the Services on our behalf, with other users when you interact on the platform, and as required by law. We describe targeted-advertising "sharing" and your opt-out rights below.
  • Your choices. Depending on where you live, you can access, correct, delete, or export your data, and opt out of targeted advertising. Submit a request at tryrein.com/privacy/request.
  • Age. Account holders must be 18 or older. Parents and guardians may manage records on behalf of a minor receiving instruction.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

We collect the information you choose to give us, which may include: name; email address; phone number; mailing or billing address; account credentials; profile and biographical details; rider preferences and goals; horse profiles, including breed, age, discipline, and care or health records you enter; messages you send through the platform; reviews and other content you post; and support or feedback you submit.

Payment information

When you make or receive a payment, our payment processors (Stripe and, where offered, PayPal) collect and process the payment details. Rein does not store full card numbers. Trainer payouts are handled through Stripe Connect.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Services we automatically collect certain technical information, such as your IP address, device and browser characteristics, operating system, referring pages, the pages and features you use, and timestamps. With your device's permission and your consent where required, we may collect approximate or precise location to power distance-based matching and search. We use cookies and similar technologies as described in "Cookies and tracking" below.

Information from other sources

If you sign in using a third-party account (such as Google or Facebook), we receive basic profile information from that provider consistent with your settings there. We also research publicly available information about equestrian professionals (for example, business name, public contact details, disciplines, and publicly posted reviews) to build and improve our trainer directory and recruitment outreach. If you are a professional and want the information we have collected about you removed, submit a request at tryrein.com/privacy/request.

2. How we use your information

  • Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
  • Operate the marketplace, including bookings, scheduling, and client management.
  • Generate AI-powered trainer and service recommendations, including the explanation of why each provider was suggested.
  • Process payments and trainer payouts and prevent fraud.
  • Enable in-app, SMS, and email messaging between trainers and riders.
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  • Send administrative and transactional messages, including changes to our terms and policies.
  • With your consent where required, send marketing communications, which you can opt out of at any time.
  • Measure and improve the Services, and understand how they are used.
  • Display promoted or featured trainer listings within the marketplace.
  • Keep the Services safe and comply with our legal obligations.

3. Legal bases (where applicable)

Where required by law, we process personal information on the basis of your consent, to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, and for our legitimate business interests such as security and improving the Services. If you are in Canada, we rely on your express or implied consent and the limited exceptions permitted under applicable law. You may withdraw consent at any time, which will not affect processing already carried out.

4. When and with whom we share information

We share personal information with service providers that process it on our behalf under contract, with other users when you interact on the platform, and as required by law. We do not sell your information for money. We do engage in "targeted advertising," which some laws treat as "sharing"; you can opt out as described in "Your privacy choices" below.

Our service providers (subprocessors)

We use the following categories of providers to operate the Services. Each is bound by contract to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us:

  • Hosting and infrastructure: Vercel, Railway, Supabase, and Cloudflare.
  • Payments: Stripe (including Stripe Connect) and PayPal.
  • Communications and support: Twilio (SMS), SendGrid (email), and Intercom (support chat).
  • Artificial intelligence: Perplexity, Anthropic, and OpenAI, used to power matching and related features.
  • Maps and location: Google Maps Platform.
  • Sign-in: Google and Facebook (when you choose social sign-in).
  • Analytics: Google Analytics.
  • Advertising: Google Ads and Meta (Facebook) Ads for measurement and retargeting.

Other users

Information you choose to make visible on the platform (such as a public trainer profile, reviews, or messages you send to another user) is shared with the users you interact with and, where applicable, with the public.

Legal and business transfers

We may disclose information to comply with law, enforce our terms, protect rights and safety, and in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of assets.

Google Maps

We use Google Maps Platform APIs for geocoding and distance calculations. Your use of map features is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Mobile information

We do not share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. SMS consent is never shared with third parties.

5. Artificial intelligence features

The Services include features powered by artificial intelligence, including trainer matching and related recommendations. To provide these features, relevant inputs (such as rider preferences and horse profile data) and outputs may be processed by our AI providers (Perplexity, Anthropic, and OpenAI) under contracts that restrict their use of the data. Rein does not use your inputs or AI-generated outputs to train, fine-tune, or develop AI models, and our AI providers are contractually prohibited from using your data to train their own models. Matching results are recommendations only and are not a guarantee of suitability. Where an automated decision would have a legal or similarly significant effect, you can request human review by contacting us.

6. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure usage through Google Analytics, and support advertising and retargeting through Google Ads and Meta Ads. Where these technologies are used for targeted advertising, applicable US state laws may treat them as a "sale" or "sharing." You can opt out as described in "Your privacy choices," and we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out of sale and sharing.

7. Text messaging (SMS)

Rein uses Twilio to deliver service messages between trainers and riders, such as booking confirmations and conversation messages. We obtain consent before sending these messages and identify ourselves as Rein. Every messaging relationship includes opt-out instructions; reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. We do not currently send marketing or promotional SMS. If we introduce marketing SMS in the future, it will be sent only with the additional consent the law requires and within permitted hours.

8. Horse health and care records

You may store care and training records for your horses, which can include health-related notes such as vaccinations, conditions, and provider visits. You own this information and control its visibility through your settings. Rein is a recordkeeping and marketplace platform, not a veterinary or medical provider, and these records are not medical advice.

9. Social sign-in

If you register or sign in using Google or Facebook, we receive basic profile information from that provider based on your privacy settings there. We use it only as described in this Policy. Your relationship with that provider is governed by its own privacy policy.

10. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law (such as for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute records). When we no longer have a legitimate need to process your information, we delete it or anonymize it. As a general matter, we do not retain personal information longer than six (6) months after your account is closed, except for records we are required or permitted to keep.

11. How we keep information safe

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information, including access controls, encryption in transit, and audit logging of administrative actions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children and minors

The Services are intended for adults. Account holders must be at least 18 years old. A parent or guardian may create and manage records on behalf of a minor who is receiving equestrian instruction. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact privacy@tryrein.com and we will delete it.

13. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, delete it, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of targeted advertising, the sale or sharing of your information, and certain profiling. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any right, visit tryrein.com/privacy/request or email privacy@tryrein.com.

You can also review and update much of your information directly in your account settings, and unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in those emails or by replying STOP to marketing SMS.

14. US state privacy rights

Residents of California and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia) have the rights described above, subject to legal limits.

Categories of information

In the past twelve months we have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as name, email, phone, and IP address); customer records (such as contact and payment information); commercial information (such as bookings and transaction history); internet and network activity (such as usage data); geolocation data; audio and visual information (such as photos you upload); professional information (for trainers); and inferences drawn from the above (such as match recommendations). We collect this information from you, from your devices, and from the public and third-party sources described above.

Sale or sharing

We do not sell personal information for money. Because we use advertising cookies and pixels (Google Ads and Meta Ads), we may "share" identifiers and internet activity for targeted advertising under state law. You can opt out at tryrein.com/privacy/request or by enabling the Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we honor automatically. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

Verification, authorized agents, and appeals

We verify your identity before acting on access or deletion requests; for sensitive requests this may involve confirming control of the email or account associated with the data. You may use an authorized agent, with proof of authorization. If we decline a request, you may appeal by emailing privacy@tryrein.com; if your appeal is denied you may contact your state attorney general.

15. Canada

If you are in Canada, we collect, use, and disclose personal information with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law. We currently operate primarily in the United States; we will provide additional Canada-specific disclosures before expanding marketing or services there.

16. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because there is no common industry standard for "Do Not Track," we do not respond to those signals. We do recognize and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising.

17. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "effective date" shown at the top reflects the latest version, and prior versions are available on this page. If we make material changes, we will notify account holders by email and with an in-app notice before the changes take effect.

18. Contact us
